I really dont understand why everyone keeps asking this one question over and over again? What is the message of Occupy Wall Street? Who is their leader? Does it really matter? Why do they need a clear message? Do you really think that will get more people behind them?
They need a clear message because the rest of the world isn’t idealistic college students. Or as the French say: “Le Duhhhhh”
It seems to just be a group of people who are angry and frustrated at the greed and excess in Wall Street and are trying to give a voice to the poor and middle class who are suffering as a result of the rich basically stealing everyone’s money to get obnoxiously richer.
It “seems to be” isn’t language that a fucking political movement needs to be identified with. Pick a direction. Stay with it. Cut off the excess baggage. Move forward. Stop trying to please everyone in the movement at once.
The population at large has become so blinded. The media feeds everyone the same garbage. No one knows whats really going on and sadly, no one is willing to stick their neck out to fight for whats right.
This includes the Occupy movement, who don’t have a message that people can take seriously, because they lump their “99%” movement (which is great, quite frankly) in with such other bullshit as “End the war on drugs” (that won’t happen in our lifetimes) and “Reinvestigate 9/11” (which is asinine) and “End inequality” (which has been going on for millenia and I don’t think a group of liberals wearing New Balance shoes in a park in Manhattan is going to change literally thousands upon thousands of years of inequality.)
Im glad the movement exists with or without a message. Just to have someone out there publicly angry at whats happening.
So you’re a fan of the Tea Party, too? They’re doing the same thing.
Makes me feel like the entire population isnt in fact comatose. If they didnt have the cops kicking the shit out of them down there I think they would be more successful.
BREAKING NEWS: Protestors would be more successful without cops.
UP NEXT ON THE NEWS: Rain makes people sad!
Youtube Occupy Wall Street Police Brutality and see what comes up. Its crazy. The police really make it almost impossible for them. They instigate fights, they cause rowdy behavior so that they can use force and make the protesters look like anarchists. Theyre not anarchists.
The cops / the media / whoever are doing a damn good job at making the protestors look like unorganized idealists because that’s what they are. Like I said before: organize yourselves like the fucking French. Hanging out in a park with a sign isn’t going to do shit.
The protests early in the year in Chicago / Oakland were downright brutal but THEY WERE ORGANIZED. As a whole the Occupy Wall Street crowd hasn’t done anything because it’s a bunch of hyperliberal idealists who can’t figure out an agenda.
