Wait, how does introducing a new technology signify “the end of power in Washington”? Popularity on a service doesn’t mean anything in the long run. Just because someone has more followers shouldn’t give them credence. Popularity by and large doesn’t mean anything unless its an actual vote. You can’t put journalism into the same realm as Tila Tequila, ‘YOLO’, and meth. We seem to be trying that now and its not working. Once network news gets that through their skulls then maybe – maybe! – we’ll finally start to see a shift away from the hyperbolic 24/7 news cycle.
